Regional Mobility and Congestion Assessments
Through the use of time-lapse aerial photography, Georgia DOT monitors highway traffic flow throughout the Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon and Savannah planning regions. Fast-moving aircraft document the severity of regional bottlenecks. Databases track mobility improvements and degradations between survey years. This information is used to support general planning studies, and to evaluate the effectiveness of investments to restore or maintain highway mobility. Below is a comprehensive resource library of the survey's findings.
